Gwo Xi Stem Cell produces clinical-grade exosomes to enter the global skincare and cosmetics market.
Gwo Xi Stem Cell (TPEx: 6704) has been granted an International Nomenclature Cosmetic Ingredient (INCI) name, marking a significant milestone for Taiwan’s exosome industry. The company successfully registered its Human Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cell Exosomes (Dulbecco’s Phosphate Buffered Saline; Human Adipose Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cell Exosomes) in the International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary and Handbook of the Personal Care Products Council (PCPC). Gwo Xi Stem Cell is the first company in Taiwan to be granted INCI name for adipose-derived stem cell exosomes, setting a benchmark for the exosome industry both domestically and internationally.
A New Regenerative Ingredient – Emerging Material in Cosmetics and Skincare
Exosomes can be derived from various sources, but most products currently on the market are derived from plant or animal cells. In contrast, Gwo Xi Stem Cell has developed pharmaceutical-grade cosmetic ingredients derived from clinical-grade human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells, introducing novel technology into skincare applications. Compared with other stem cell types, adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) exhibit multilineage differenciation potential and offer several advantages, including minimally invasive harvesting, high cell yield, low immunogenicity, anti-inflammatory effects, and pro-angiogenic properties. Moreover, ADSCs have been deeply investigated in clinical trials, with substantial scientific evidence supporting their functionality, making them a promising cell source to produce exosome for cosmetic applications.
Exosomes secreted by stem cells are nanoscale lipid bilayer vesicles that encapsulate a diverse array of growth factors and serve as key mediators that promote tissue regeneration through intracellular transport. They possess anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and tissue-repairing properties. Furthermore, for skincare applications, they have demonstrated potential to stimulate collagen production, reduce wrinkles, improve skin brightness, and enhance skin tissue repair. Multiple studies have also reported their positive effects on sensitive skin. Gwo Xi Stem Cell produces exosomes from clinical-grade cell sources and, in March 2025, successfully obtained INCI name certification. This recognition confirms that Gwo Xi Stem Cell’s exosomes meet high standards of purity, safety, and efficacy, enabling their entry into the global cosmetics market.

Gwo Xi Stem Cell Expands into the Global Skincare Market
In recent years, exosomes have attracted significant attention, progressing from academic research to clinical development and now extending into cosmetic applications. According to Valuates Reports, the global exosome skincare market was valued at USD 570 million in 2022 and is projected to grow to USD 1.76 billion in 2028, with a compound annual growth rate of 18.1%. While the market continues to expand, regulatory frameworks for human-derived exosomes in cosmetics remain relatively stringent. Their use is currently conditionally permitted only in regions such as Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, with products still subject to regulatory review before being marketed.
As a pioneer in stem cell medicine development, Gwo Xi Stem Cell has secured more than one hundred patents related to cell therapy technology and operates a certified, pharmaceutical-grade cell processing center (CPC). The company continues to drive innovation, expand into international markets, and has established diverse collaborative models, including CDMO and OEM services, offering flexible partnership opportunities. As regenerative medicine becomes increasingly mainstream, its applications are expected to extend beyond clinical settings into daily life.
